Has there been any news on this project? What are the zoning boundaries going to be, are any of the current Mary Lin kids going to
be affected by this? I was recently told that most likely the zones for the new school would affect any families living within the
vicinities of North Ave toward Ponce . And that grandfathering would NOT be allowed. If this is true I know that we would
definitely be going to the new school

Also any idea as what the name of this new school is going to be, and who the new principal will be?
I'm just a little concerned, we just moved to the area from California, and the schools are the reason we chose this area to live in. And now to find out we may have to leave Mary Lin next year and attend another school.
Any feed back?
Regards
Maria
If you go to the New/Howard School link in the left nav bar, you'll get all the basic info. Rumor had it that APS was going to announce the district lines for the New School (no name or principal yet) last week, so news may hit this week.
They've said they'll announce and then hold community forums to discuss specific issues. Our Local School Council has been involved so you may check with them to learn of any updates (localschoolcouncil@marylinelementary.com) or you can go right to APS and our district rep (http://www.atlanta.k12.ga.us/content/boe_district3.aspx).
Trust me, when it is announced everyone will be talking.
APS posted the new boundaries yesterday. Unfortunately, there's not a map. They say they'll create one of those next week. You can find the written description at
http://www.atlanta.k12.ga.us/content/news/hottopics/Morningside-lin.pdf
The FAQs about the school are here
http://www.atlanta.k12.ga.us/content/news/hottopics/FAQMorningside-lin.pdf
As posted on our main page, there'll be a meeting for community input at Grady High on Sept. 18th.
